REGISTRATION & SUBSCRIPTION
How to… register
On the Home page you need to select Register (from the main menu bar).help01

On the newly displayed form please fill in the following fields:
Username needs to be 6 to 20 characters long (standard set of alphanumeric characters)
Password needs to be 6 to 20 characters long
Confirm Password should be identical to the previous field
Email Address (please use your active email address)
Enter These Chars field expects the correct 4-letter response code displayed in the CAPTCHA image. NB: if you can’t read the CAPTCHA image move your mouse pointer over it and that field will gain focus i.e. the image will become more contrasty. If after that you can’t resolve the four-letter code, click on the image or the “regenerate” button and a new code will be displayed for you.

If everything is filled correctly the Register button will become highlighted; clicking on this button will complete the registration procedure.

How to… log in
To be able to log in you need to be registered. You can proceed to log in form by selecting Login from the main menu bar.

On the newly displayed form please fill in the following fields:
Username (the ID you’ve chosen during registration)
Password (the one you’ve chosen during registration)

If everything is filled correctly the Login button will become highlighted; clicking on this button will complete the login procedure and will take you to the CHOPIN interface.help04

How to… change/reset your password

On the login page (from the main bar menu), type in your username and then click on the “reset my password” link.help05

That will take you to a CAPTCHA field; when you type in the correct 4-letter code you’ll be able to reset/change the password.help06

NB: if you can’t read the CAPTCHA image move your mouse pointer over it and that field will gain focus i.e. the image will become more contrasty. If after that you can’t resolve the four-letter code, click on the image or the “regenerate” button and a new code will be displayed for you.

At the same time you’ll receive an email with a reset code; copy/paste it into the designated field on the change password web form.help10

How to… subscribe to CHOPIN Professional package
On the homepage please select “Subscribe” from the main menu bar.help07

This will display our Subscription Table and then select “Subscribe now”.help08

If you’re not logged in, the system will prompt you to log in or register before you can proceed to the payment section.
How to… evaluate chess content
If you’re a first time visitor and would like to evaluate the quality of our chess content please click on the “Book” or the “Feather” image from our homepage.help09

This will take you to our free sample of opening line 121 (“The Benko Gambit, Declined and Accepted” by GM Bojan Vučković) on “Book” tab. The first click will display the summary for the selected line and the second click on it will take you to the game viewer. The rest of our opening lines will become available when you subscribe.help13

Similarly, if you visit our “Feather” tab you’ll be able to access our free sample articles “The Czech Pirc, Part 1” by GM Vadim Zvjaginsev and “The Scotch Game, Potter Variation” by GM Boris Avrukh.help14

How to… locate a specific opening line/article
Opening lines are located on “Book” tab and articles are located on “Feather” tab. All columns on both tabs are sortable so to sort the content by any column it is enough to click on the column title.help15
help16Using the scroll bar you’ll be able to locate the line/article you’re looking for.
How to… change the display of variations
When you open a desired line/article from the table a game viewer will be displayed. Chess content in CHOPIN lines and articles always follow the same pattern: the best continuation is always the main line (according to our editors) and other moves leading to subvariations are listed in descending order. If you wish to follow a specific subvariation, simply click on the plus sign next to its initial move.help17

Similarly, the subvariation will close if you click on a minus sign.help18

Additional controls include:
Expand All/Collapse All – simultaneously opens/closes all subvariationshelp19help20

Hide All/Show All – hides/displays all subvariations; when all subvariations are hidden, only the main line is displayedhelp21help22

Diagrams/Summary – alternates between diagrams and summary info in the bottom fieldhelp23help24

How to… proceed following the moves from the less frequent move order
If there are multiple ways to reach a position (through various move orders) then its analysis proceeds only in one spot and in all other places there will be hyperlinks pointing at the main move order. Clicking on any of the mentioned hyperlinks …help25

… will take you to the continuation of that line.help26

How to… scroll diagrams in the bottom field
You scroll the diagrams with three arrow controls:
The uppermost arrows – scroll to the ends (superfast)
The middle arrows – scroll four diagrams at the time (fast)
The bottom arrows – scroll one diagram at the time (detailed)help27

How to… navigate through “Key” tab
CO 24/7 Opening Key can be accessed through “Key” tab. By choosing particular moves you reach a desired position and then you click on the link which takes you to the content of the corresponding opening line in the game viewer.help28

How to… sort available moves by statistics
Columns of the upper table in “Tree” tab view are sortable. Sorting in descending order by each column is done by clicking on its header.help29help30

How to… reset the board position/flip board
You can reset the board to the starting position by clicking on the small X sign in the lower right corner of the board.help31

You can flip the board by clicking on the pawns in the upper right corner of the board.help32
