Line 307 covers the Gurgenidze System (3… g6), the Forgacs Variation (3… dxe4 4. Nxe4 Nf6 5. Nxf6+ exf6), the Bronstein-Larsen Variation (3… dxe4 4. Nxe4 Nxf6 5. Nxf6+ gxf6), and also a large part of the Karpov Variation (3… dxe4 4. Nxe4 Nd7) as the main line.
Each of the above mentioned variations has its followers, due to a wide variety of positional ideas based on different pawn structures.
