[September 02, 2017] Updated Opening Line by Bojan Vučković:
Sicilian Defense, Rossolimo Variation with 3… e6 4. O-O

[Line 425 : 1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5 e6 4. O-O]

After the almost exclusive reply 4… Nge7 White has two highly popular options – 5. Re1 and 5. c3, while 5. b35. Nc3 and 5. d4 are also interesting sidelines.

If White opts for 5. Re1, Black gets good prospects with 5… Nd4 6. Nxd4 cxd4, though he should also be able to get roughly equal chances by playing 5… a6 6. Bf1 d5 7. exd5 Nxd5, as well as with 5… Ng6 6. c3 d5 7. exd5 Qxd5.

After 5. c3 a6 White has two possibilities of about the same strength – 6. Be2 and 6. Ba4 where, against any of the two, Black should generally equalize without difficulties.

[Diagram: White to Move] Black’s somewhat underdeveloped kingside allows White to seize the initiative. What would you propose for him?
